NEXT GUILD MEETING:
Sunday, Sept. 25, 5:30 PM
at the Puppet Showplace Theatre
32 Station Street
Brookline, MA 617-731-6400
Behind the Scenes with National Marionette Theatre
For our special program, performers from National Marionette Theatre will show us a rare glimpse backstage as they strike their set for Beauty and the Beast. One of the oldest continually-running marionette companies in the United States, they are renowned for their beautiful hand-carved marionettes, lush scenery, and magical stage effects. They are performing all weekend at Puppet Showplace, so you can come earlier in the day to see their show, then come to the guild meeting to see how the magic happens. David Syrotiak will talk about the production and answer questions.
There will be Show and Tell, and a potluck dinner during the break, so please bring something to share. We will also talk about the recent regional puppetry festival, and the upcoming Honk Parade. Hope to see you there!
