Our Creative Process!
Our special guests will be the amazing Sarah Frechette and her partner Jason Thibodeaux, who will talk about their creative process and what they've been up to lately. While at the PST, Sarah and Jason will be conducting an Adult Class ~ NIGHT SHADE: Cinematic Shadow Effects, on Thursday, March 8th, 6:30-9:30. Sarah will be performing at Puppet Showplace Theater that weekend with "The Snowflake Man". You can come to the 3:00 performance before our meeting to see the show.
Sarah Frechette co-founder of Night Shade and founder of Puppetkabob, studied marionettes with Master German Puppeteer Albrecht Roser and performed with Phillip Huber on Tony Oursler and Dan Graham's marionette rock opera Don't Trust Anyone Over Thirty, for which Sarah also built the puppets costumes. Together with Jason Thibodeaux, she won the Unima-USA Citation of Excellence for the traveling trunk show The Snowflake Man, as well as, celebrating their 10 year anniversary running the live artist collective Night Shade Shadow Theater. Sarah's studio work includes: LAIKA, HOUSE Special, Bent Image Lab and on the PBS children's television series SeeMore's Playhouse.
Jason Thibodeaux co-founder and director of Night Shade Shadow Theater is currently painting puppets for the stop-mo television show "The Shivering Truth" on Adult Swim. He painted on LAIKA's stop-motion feature films Coraline, ParaNorman, The BoxTrolls and Kubo. Jason illustrated and sculpted the characters for The Spooky Girls puppet film project; had a Savage Dragon Twisted Funnies comic published with Image Comics; and has performed several years at the Lake Eden Arts Festival in Black Mountain, NC; and the Giant Puppetry Festival in New Orleans, LA.
There will also be Show and Tell, if you would like to bring in a new puppet or projects. Also a potluck dinner during the break, so bring something to share. We will also talk about upcoming events, and this year's Regional Festival. Hope to see you there!

Puppet Slam is an evening of short, theatrical mini-plays for adults. The performers range from the seasoned professional to the nascent puppeteer, and often include poets, musicians, dancers, mimes, actors, and other sundry affiliated artists.

PUPPETEERS OF AMERICA
September 18 – 23, 2018
The Puppeteers of America Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions are joining the Puppets in the Green Mountains Festival produced by Sandglass Puppet Theater for Puppet Homecoming 2018. Open to professionals, students, and puppetry enthusiasts, PH 2018 will be a weekend of workshops, shows, camaraderie, special events, and more.
This is the tenth edition of Sandglass Theater's international festival in Brattleboro, Vermont. This year's Festival, titled Opening Our Doors, September 18 – 23, 2018, is 6 days of performances that foster a spirit of inclusivity and are designed for both children and adults.
