The Chinese Monkey King flips and instantly becomes a giant crab. Teenaged Esther reads from her diary of Holocaust experiences. These are two of the theatrical experiences Galapagos includes in its repertory of folk and history tales. Galapagos offers performances and residencies for community and school groups. Fees are 500+. For small groups, we offer shows by a solo puppeteer beginning at $130.

The Gerwick Puppets have been performing in elementary schools, libraries and Museums throughout New England for over 30 years! They are regular performers at First Night Boston and The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. Sarah has been performing before family audiences for more than twenty-five years. Her Funny Bone Tales presents two warmly humorous children's stories, Silly Sam and Bendemolena, The Cat Who Wore A Pot On Her Head, plus a gentle version of Punch and Judy. Shabbat Shalom offers a multimedia program about the history and delights of the Sabbath. And A Glimpse of Nepal explores the exotic, far-off Himalayan kingdom through its folk literature. Lisa and her troupe of large puppets sing and dance for children of all ages in fun and educational theme shows. Children become an integral part of the show. Depending on the theme they may become George Washington or Amelia Earhardt, “swim” with fish and beach balls, rock with Elvis or parade as movie stars! Since 1995, Luna Theatre has developed and performed experimental adult puppetry performances that explore diverse cultural and artistic traditions. Luna's approach to theatre is based on collaboration and communication across cultures. Luna Theatre combines the natural world with imagination, and traditional stories with new ones, using puppetry, masks, and movement as creative, expressive forms. Luna has two touring shows: The Nose, an absurd shadow play based on the Gogol story about a man who loses his nose, and Rocks, Flames, and Other Misfortunes, inspired in part by traditional Bulgarian music.

Gail Kearns is a reading specialist-clinician who works privately with children at the Kearns Reading Clinic in Concord, MA. Imagine questioning a conceited Emperor at his press conference! Magpie Puppets performances involve children actively. These shows are filled with kindness, charm, humor, and the finest music. The large stage offers a true theatrical experience complete with lights, scenery, and special effects, for both marionettes and other types of puppets. The small stage is ideal for birthday parties; no marionettes are used due to size constraints. The birthday parties are written with an understanding of the interests and needs of the birthday child. Large shows are $280 plus travel. Small shows are $100 plus travel.

The Poobley Greegy Puppet Theater tours New England's elementary schools and libraries performing for 30,000 people a year, using hand, rod, shadow and string puppets in a unique multi-opening stage.

During the school year, there are weekend shows every Sat. and Sun. at 1 and 3 pm, as well as a special TOT show at 10:30 on Thursday morning, recommended for pre-schoolers, ages three to five. Deborah Costine has been a professional puppeteer for over twenty-five years performing for hundreds of New England elementary and nursery schools, libraries, museums, and is a favorite at The Puppet Showplace Theater in Brookline, MA. Judith O’Hare is well known for her participatory puppet theater, but she recently developed a delightful style of small table top theater in the style of Victorian Toy Theater and Pop Up Books.
